Ministry of Music
Come to the first organ recital to be presented at First Presbyterian Church by our new Minister of Music, Jonathan Hall. The concert is on the afternoon of Pentecost Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 3:00 PM.
Jonathan will be joined by classical saxophonist Bill Powers for two numbers.
A simple reception will follow, and though the recital is free, voluntary offerings are gladly accepted.
Our Music Mission:
The First Presbyterian Church in Goshen, New York (FPC) has a long tradition of excellence in its music program. This program not only enhances the musical aspects of our regular worship, but it also enhances the whole life of the congregation through special seasonal programs, growth in congressional singing, ecumenical opportunities, fellowship opportunities, and coordination with our entire Christian Education Program. Considering our broad heritage and the diversity of interests among all ages and backgrounds of our congregation, our program shall have an appreciation of the value of the whole range of available music from classical to contemporary.
The Music Program at FPC includes the following:
- Youth Choir (currently coordinated and directed through the Sunday School Program)
- Hand Bell Choir (4 octave set of handbells)
- Chancel Choir
- Organ (3-manual, 52 rank pipe/electronic hybrid organ. Originally a 1931 Austin 42 rank organ modified in 1998 with a Wyvern English-style draw knob console with added digital stops.)
- Piano (Baby grand piano)
