FEBRUARY USHERS IN THE LENTEN SEASON

The church year moves us forward during February to Ash Wednesday on February 22, which marks the beginning of Lent. Lent is always observed as a season of repenting, of examining our lives, and of making changes in how we live. Because we are human, we all have our shortcomings; but each year, we are granted anew the opportunity to take a fresh look at ourselves and take positive steps to sink more deeply into our relationship with God and our neighbors.

Lenten themes will be reflected in the chancel choir’s anthems and in the hymns we sing together. This is always a special season of Sundays, culminating in Holy Week and Easter.

Our choir is always open to new members. Just come to rehearsal on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in the parlor; we’d love to welcome you.
